The School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Yulin University has developed from the Department of Chemistry at Suide Normal College in 1958.
The School offers fourBA degree programs (Chemistry,Chemical Engineering and Technology,Storage and Transport of Petroleum and Gas, and Process Equipment and Control) and two non-degree three-year national diploma programs (Chemistry Education,Chemical Equipment Maintenance). Of the programs and courses offered, the program ofStorage and Transport of Petroleum and Gas is evaluated as a specialized program at the provincial level and the course of Organic Chemistry as a Model Course at the provincial level.
The School consists of four teaching and research sections. They are:Chemistry,Chemical Engineering and Technology,Storage and Transport of Petroleum and Gas, and Process Equipment and Control. In addition, 12 educational practice bases and 1 experimental base are affiliated to the School.Currently it has a student body of 1641.
The school has 52 staff. Among them 46 belong to the faculty; of these 5 are professors, 13 are associate professors, 7 are lecturers, and 21 are assistant teachers.

Chemical Engineering and Technology (a four-year BSc program)
Objectives:to train students to become highly specialized personnel qualified to work in the coal, chemical, petroleum chemical and gas chemical industries in Yulin and the provinces and regions bordering Yulin.
Courses offered:Physical Chemistry, Theory of Chemical Industry, Chemical Thermodynamics, Chemical Reaction Engineering, Chemical Separation Engineering, Chemical Conveyance Engineering, Chemical Meters and Automation, Natural Gas Treatment and Processing Technology, An Introduction to Chemical Design.
Chemistry (a four-year BSc program)
Objectives:To provide students with basic knowledge, theories and skills in chemistry and enable them to seek careers in teaching, scientific research and administration in the field of chemistry and other fields related to chemistry.
Courses offered:InorganicChemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Structural Chemistry, Organic Composition, Instrument Analysis.
Storage and Transport of Petroleum and Gas(a four-year BSc program)
Objectives:To enable students to become highly qualified engineers and technicians who are equipped with professional knowledge and skills in the field of storage and transport of petroleum and gas, and who are competent to make plans for, design, administer, research into and develop projects related to storage and transport of petroleum and gas in such workplaces as petroleum enterprises, government organizations, transportation planning and design organizations, and storage and transportation administrations of petroleum and gas.
Courses offered:Urban Gas Distribution System, Oil Depot Design and Administration, Oil Pipeline Design and Administration, Gas Pipeline Conveyance System, Oil Storage Science, Oil Tank Strength Design, Corrosion Testing and Prevention, An Introduction to Petroleum Industry, Basics of Mechanical Design, Industrial Auto Meters and Basics of Process Control.
Process Equipment and Control Engineering(a four-year BSc program)
Objectives:To enable students to become highly qualified engineers and technicians who are equipped with professional knowledge and skills in the fields of chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, control engineering and management engineering, and who are competent for project design, technological development, production and sales, equipment control and research in such workplaces related to chemical industry, petroleum industry, light industry, environmental protection, medicine industry, food industry, mechanical industry and labor safety.

Petroleum Chemical Production Technology (a three-year national diploma program)
Objectives:To train students to be equipped with basic and professional knowledge and skills in the field of petroleum chemical production, and become professional personnel who are competent for analyzing and selecting petroleum processing and production technology.

Objectives:To enable students to become highly qualified specialized technicians who are morally, intellectually, physically and aesthetically strong, who are equipped with innovative spirit and practical skills, and who are provided with basic knowledge and professional skills needed in chemical equipment maintenance.
